Sultan Haitham has held the position of Minister of Heritage and Culture since 2002, and he held many positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including: the Secretary General of the Ministry, the Under Secretary for Political Affairs, and a Minister Plenipotentiary

He is the head of the main committee for the future vision of the Sultanate of Oman 2040

Besides, the Sultan held the position of President of the Omani Football Association from 1983 to 1986, and also chaired the organizing committee for the second Asian Beach Games held in Muscat 2010

He is also Honorary President of the Handicapped Children Care Association and Al-Seib Sports Club

icy of neutrality pursued by the Sultanate of Oman over nearly half aentury of Sultan Qaboos’ rule
